This was once a real acorn cap - complete with budding buddy - dropped by a living tree! Now, it is solid bronze, with a new “nut” made of yellow calcite. The cap’s original organic matter was completely replaced with metal during the casting process (learn about that here), leaving behind a completely unique piece of nature preserved in metal and stone.
